Ok... I have been listening to Lorena talking to friends about missing food and watching her eat the small amounts and I am a little freaked!

I finally had to tell her to Be Quiet once :)

Se is doing great but it is a little frightening to listen to her talk about missing food.

I know I am doing this but I should have gone first! LOL

LORENA GOES FIRST

I took Lorena to the Hospital today and she was really calm about it! I was nervous because anyone that is getting surgery there is always a risk of things going wrong.

We got there around 10:30am and they placed her in a waiting room to get all ready. We were told that they would come to get her around 11:30.

They finally came and got her around 1:15PM (go figure) and I watched them wheel her away.

So now we start on our journey!!

The surgery went great and I waited for her up at her room. She got there around 4:30PM.

This is the first time that I wished I had gone first. I got a little freaked when I saw her right after recovery!

It is never fun to see people in pain, especially loved ones, but when you know you about to do the exact same thing it is a little frightening!! LOL

Here we go!! :)

My name is Mike, I am married to a wonderful woman named Lorena and I have 4 older children between the ages of 16 and 25 and I have been fighting weight problems for about 16 years since I blew my knee out playing racquetball.

Up to that point I had always been an athletic person of sorts.

I played Tennis as a youngster and was state ranked as well as Soccer in youth leagues and High School. I power lifted in College as well as playing a few sports on the imtermural level. I played all sorts of other sports on the unorganized level but the point is I really enjoyed sports and I stayed between 160 to 210 lbs for years.

When I blew my knee out it was the start of some hard battles with weight.

As Lorena had kids she gained a little weight and I did too!

Well... I now weigh 324 pounds and at a height of 5'7" I am a tad bit round!! :)

The purpose of this blog is to help me with keeping track of everything that happens... a diary of what I will go through and if somebody else reads this and gains anything then all the better!! :)

I do not know how often I will write in this but I hope to keep it up with pictures and feelings I have as I go.

Lorena is scheduled to have the Gastric bypass tomorrow and mine is a week later...

As I said in the title of this post... Here we go!
